Adopt Mark

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 6 months

Mark – a reserved male dog looking for his people Country of origin (= current country of residence): Switzerland Country of birth: Bulgaria Weight: currently approx. 10 kg Hello, big world out there! My name is Mark, and just a few days ago I got to travel to Switzerland with my siblings from Bulgaria. In Bulgaria, we were found in the woods with our mom when we were still very tiny. Since then, we’ve been raised at the local animal shelter and, unfortunately, haven’t had the chance to experience much of the world. Now that we’re in Switzerland, we’re all hoping to find loving families to call our own. I’m still a bit shy, but after a short observation period, I do gradually warm up to new situations. With my new humans, I’d love to explore the world and share lots of wonderful adventures together. I don’t know any dog basics yet, so I’m really eager to join dog training classes. Right now, I’m slowly getting used to walking on a leash, step by step. I’m looking for a home with understanding people who’ll give me the time I need to calmly get to know everything at my own pace. Before applying, please carefully read the information sheet below to familiarize yourself with this animal’s specific needs. If you’re interested, please complete the application form and send it to . Important: Please only apply if you’re ready to adopt soon—meaning not if you have upcoming vacations, a move, or similar plans. We want to avoid our animals staying in the animal shelter any longer than absolutely necessary.

Mark - zurückhaltender Rüde sucht seine Menschen Herkunftsland (=aktuelles Aufenthaltsland): Schweiz Zuchtland (=Geburtsland): Bulgarien Gewicht: aktuell ca. 10kg Hallo grosse Welt da draussen. About Mark

What life with Mark looks like

Mark is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Tierpension Strubeli in Switzerland.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mark, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mark?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Tierpension Strubeli handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mark on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mark if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Tierpension Strubeli will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mark already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mark isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Tierpension Strubeli early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mark and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
