adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! The magical Marla has lived in her foster home in Landshut since mid-March and shows herself to be a roundly loving, friendly, and puppy-like playful female dog. At five months old, she brings a lot of curiosity, joy, and a large portion of charm. Currently, Marla is about 30 cm in height and weighs around 7 kg. She will still grow, but is likely to remain relatively small. In her foster home, she shows herself to be open, friendly, and affectionate in dealing with people and other dogs. She especially enjoys playing in the garden with her dog friend and snuggling with her foster mom. Marla is already house-trained, goes well on a leash, knows a few commands, and likes to ride in the car. As a young puppy, Marla is still at the beginning of her life. As she grows, she will also test her own boundaries—puberty will not be avoided. Therefore, we wish for her a family that meets her with patience, structure, and loving consistency and accompanies her safely through life. A visit to dog training classes that work with positive reinforcement would be a meaningful support. Marla is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas and travels with her EU pet passport. Due to her shortened route, she is not allowed to enter Switzerland. Who would like to give Marla a loving home and accompany her on her further life path? A friendly only dog could make the adjustment easier for her. A heartfelt thank you to Daniela S. for the nametag sponsorship! As of: 30.04.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 30.04.2026

About Marla

What life with Marla looks like

Marla is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marla, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marla?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marla on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marla if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marla already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marla isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marla and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
