Marley

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Marley - sensitive dog seeks people with heart and experience & Marley is a four-year-old intact mixed breed male who is looking for a home where he can finally find peace. He is not a dog that immediately approaches everyone carefree - rather, he needs people who give him security, orientation and trust. Marley initially encounters new situations and strangers with uncertainty and skepticism. He needs time to build trust and does not want to be pressured. However, once he has built a bond with his caregivers, he shows himself very cooperative, eager to learn and responsive. He closely aligns himself with his humans and is easy to guide. Marley already masters the basic commands reliably and responds dependably to his name. He wants to please and enjoys working together with his caregivers. Since Marley is still very sensitive to stimuli, it sometimes makes it difficult for him to calm down. He often comments on unusual situations by barking and needs the support of his humans to regain security. Even outside he currently still needs a lot of orientation. Therefore, it is important to always lead him on a leash - off-leash is not an option at this time. With other dogs, it depends on sympathy. Especially with intact males, there can be difficulties due to his showmanship behavior. We wish Marley a quiet, dog-experienced home without children, where one understands his body language and encounters him with patience and clear, loving guidance. Whether and how well he can stay alone in the future must be built up step by step together (as of July 2026, he cannot currently stay alone). Marley is a dog with great potential. Whoever is willing to give him time and lovingly accompany him on his way will have a loyal companion at their side who closely aligns himself with his humans

About Marley

What life with Marley looks like

Marley is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Wally-Bangert-Tierheim Lohr am Main in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marley, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marley?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Wally-Bangert-Tierheim Lohr am Main handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marley on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marley if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Wally-Bangert-Tierheim Lohr am Main will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marley already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marley isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Wally-Bangert-Tierheim Lohr am Main early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marley and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
