adoption requirements adoption process Inquire about this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Inquire about this dog now! Martha didn’t have an easy start in life, yet today she can count herself among the lucky ones. Together with her sisters Hjärta, Tami, and Jasmina, as well as her mother Felice, she was discovered alongside a busy road—a situation that could easily have ended tragically. It’s all the more wonderful that compassionate people intervened in time, allowing the little family to move to a foster home near Cluj. Since then, Martha has been living there with her mom in a lively, mixed group of dogs. While housed outdoors, she is safe, reliably cared for, and enjoys regular contact with both humans and other dogs. As vital as this stopover is, it cannot replace a permanent home with trusted people of her own. At around seven months old, Martha is still at the very beginning of her life. She’s expected to grow even larger than her mother and will likely become a big dog (+60cm) when fully grown—an absolute dream for those who love large dogs and already own a sofa far too big! Her soft, creamy-white coat, delicate beige facial markings, and floppy ears give her an especially endearing appearance. At the same time, she radiates cheerful, lively energy that instantly lifts your spirits. On the foster home, they’re already working on teaching the young dogs foundational skills for their future lives. Martha proves playful, friendly, and very people-oriented, and she also gets along wonderfully with other dogs. The time spent at the foster home is an important stepping stone for Martha, but not a long-term solution.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Martha

What life with Martha looks like

Martha is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Martha, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Martha?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Martha on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Martha if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Martha already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Martha isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Martha and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
