Adopt MARTIN

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Estimated birthdate: August 2023 Brief info: friendly, cheerful, attentive, cuddly, adventurous, curious, intelligent, family+, older kids+, male dogs+, female dogs+ Tierheimleiterin Kata is frequently contacted by animal protectors who are looking for places for dogs from euthanasia stations or shelters that do not have the means to place the dogs abroad. And in Hungary itself, there are only limited chances for the Fellnas to find a nice home. This happened again in May 2026, and Kata was asked if she couldn't take in three dogs from another station. Kata couldn't say no, and so MARTIN came in as one of the three. The dog, estimated to have been born in August 2023, was found on the street – more is not known about his background. The cheerful MARTIN is a wonderful young rüde – friendly, people-oriented, attentive, clever, lively. Curious and motivated, he also likes to stand on his hind legs sometimes to get a better view – :). The charming MARTIN is definitely in the starting blocks for a colorful life full of adventures. With his fellow animals, MARTIN also gets along wonderfully and likes to play with them. For the enchanting MARTIN, we are looking for adventurous people with dog experience who want to explore the world with the active male dog. Of course, he still needs to be taught all the important things of a dog's daily life, but with the right support, he will surely learn everything quickly. MARTIN moves into his new home neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and with an EU pet passport. Has the pretty puppy captured your heart? Then we look forward to your message!. Suitable only for households with older children.

About MARTIN

What life with MARTIN looks like

MARTIN is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Pfotenretter Ungarn in Pfotenretter.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting MARTIN, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about MARTIN?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pfotenretter Ungarn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw MARTIN on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt MARTIN if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pfotenretter Ungarn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is MARTIN already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if MARTIN isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pfotenretter Ungarn early rather than rehoming privately; they know MARTIN and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
