Marvella

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 6 years

Marvella – A gentle soul is searching for her forever home. Marvella is a beautiful, large dog whose past was likely anything but easy. She was simply abandoned on the street, and much suggests that she spent her previous life as a chained dog. Despite all this, she has retained her love for people—a small miracle that shows just how big her heart is. With men, Marvella is initially a bit cautious. She needs a moment to build trust. With women, however, she meets them with great affection and openness. She thoroughly enjoys every loving touch, loves cuddling more than anything, and proves to be an exceptionally gentle and affectionate companion. For Marvella, we wish for a calm, loving home with people who will give her the time she needs to settle in and finally experience what it feels like to feel safe and secure. Small children should not live in the household, as she has never been around them before and a quiet environment will give her greater security. Marvella would be happiest as an only princess. She longs to enjoy her humans’ undivided attention and finally be allowed to be the center of their world—something she probably never experienced in her previous life. A securely fenced garden would be a wonderful gift for her, allowing her to soak up the sun to her heart’s content and move freely. Who will give this wonderful dog the chance for a fresh start and show her that love, trust, and a real home can last forever? The animals are described according to their behavior in the animal shelter or foster home. They don’t immediately display this behavior upon arrival. Some may even initially react with anxiety to their new situation. Animals from animal shelters all have a past that was usually far from pleasant—or even cruel. This past cannot be shaken off overnight. They need time to settle in and build trust. Please be patient and give your animal the time it needs!

About Marvella

What life with Marvella looks like

Marvella is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina in Berlin.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marvella, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marvella?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marvella on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marvella if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marvella already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marvella isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marvella and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
