Massimo

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 10 months

Massimo is a dog who loves people. He is very happy when someone spends time with him and enjoys being petted. He is friendly and open to his surroundings. He is not only focused on humans, but also gets along well with other dogs and is fond of cats and children. Massimo's life began quite differently than one would wish for a young dog. As a small puppy, he was bought for a child. But as he grew, the interest in him decreased. He became a young dog and eventually a dog that no one wanted to keep. So he ended up on the street and was suddenly on his own. Fortunately, he was found in time and brought to safety. Today, Massimo lives in a foster home and shows every day what a lovable companion he is. At just ten months old, Massimo is still in the middle of his development. Puberty is an exciting time when a puppy slowly becomes an adult dog. What he has learned so far can be questioned again, concentration sometimes falls, and outside there are suddenly a thousand things that seem more interesting than what the person wants. At the same time, Massimo will still have to learn a lot, different everyday situations, car trips, visits, different environments, or relaxed walks on a leash. With patience, loving consistency, and a positive dog school, he will master all these experiences step by step and develop into a wonderful companion. Optically, Massimo could be a Herdenschutzhund mix. That's why we would like to have a rural home with a house and a securely fenced garden, as well as people who are willing to deal with the possible characteristics of a Herdenschutzhund mix and accompany him accordingly. Massimo is chipped, vaccinated, dewormed, dewormed, and neutered. He travels with an EU pet passport and will be placed after a positive preliminary check, a protection contract, and a deposit. He would also be very happy about a suitable foster home. Many thanks to his godmother Andrea M., who gave Massimo his name and thus a piece of identity. Status: 15.07.2026

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Massimo

What life with Massimo looks like

Massimo is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Massimo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Massimo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Massimo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Massimo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Massimo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Massimo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Massimo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
