Adopt Mati

Mixed Breed · Male

Mati – is looking for his forever home 💛 Status: available for adoption. Not looking for a stop, but a harbor. Not looking for someone "for a while", but forever. Mati – a dog who has been through a lot, but still believes that somewhere there is a person with whom he can just be himself. Today he is a sensitive, warm guy who is opening his heart more and more each day. Once unsure and frightened – now he runs to greet, wagging his tail as if to say: "See? I can already be happy!". He loves his temporary caregiver with all his heart, wants to be close, snuggle up, rest his muzzle on the knees and feel safe. With strangers he still needs time – he barks because he's scared. All it takes is patience, calmness and a bit of empathy. When he understands that no one wants to hurt him, his eyes become soft and his body relaxes. Then he can approach, sniff, even slightly celebrate in his dog way. On walks he feels best in quiet places – in the meadow, in the forest, where there is silence. He likes routine, known paths and predictability. Any change in route is a challenge for him, but with a trusted person he will take the step forward – because he trusts that it is safe. In the company of another stable dog he feels more secure – his presence gives him peace and balance. At home he is a calm, grateful companion. He keeps cleanliness, likes daily routine, needs closeness and the feeling that someone is nearby. With another dog he gets along without problems, and when left alone, he vocalizes for a few minutes, but then falls asleep and waits patiently. At the vet he is well-behaved, though tense. He has never shown aggression, even in stress. Sometimes he barks from joy, sometimes from fear – that's his way of expressing emotions. Mati is a dog who doesn't need crowds, noise or the city. He needs a person who will love him as he is – gentle, a little shy, but wholeheartedly devoted to those he considers "his own". Ideal home? Quiet, with a garden, preferably in the countryside. A home where the rhythm of the day is simple, and the heart is open. A home where someone will say: "You don't have to be afraid anymore, Mati. Now you are home." Because he really doesn't ask for much. He only asks for one thing – a permanent home. Forever. 🐾 —- DOG PROFILE —- 🧮 Year of birth: 07/2021 🚻 Gender: male 🐾 Size: medium - approx 20kg 🏀 Activity: medium ❤️ neutered: yes ℹ️ Chip: yes 💉 Vaccinations: yes ✅ dog is under the care of the Tricity branch of the Foundation for Puppies Judyta ✅ dog is currently in a foster home in the Tricity area and surroundings ✅ Adoption obligation: filling out the questionnaire, pre-adoption visit and signing the adoption contract ✅ LINK TO QUESTIONNAIRE:

Wystarczy cierpliwość, spokój i odrobina empatii. Lubi rutynę, znane ścieżki i przewidywalność. W domu to spokojny, wdzięczny towarzysz. Idealny dom? Bo on naprawdę nie prosi o wiele.

About Mati

What life with Mati looks like

Mati is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mati, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mati?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mati on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mati if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mati already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mati isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mati and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
