Matilda(reserviert)

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Born in October 2024, healthy, vaccinated, sterilized, and treated for parasites, Matilda is a charming girl, not large but very energetic. She is open in her interactions, loves people, and is especially affectionate with children. She is very friendly and genuinely happy to see every person. She is ready to give love and attention. Matilda is always full of energy and runs, plays, and enjoys spending time outdoors. She quickly finds a connection with people and animals, is not aggressive, and lives in a foster home with other dogs. Matilda values the company of her person very much. She is always nearby and wants to be part of family life. Travel, learning new things, as long as it’s with her person. She is accustomed to car rides, walks well on a leash, and is housebroken. The fate of Matilda was not always kind. She was found on a field where she, recently having given birth to puppies, desperately cared for her newborns. The pregnant female dog was no longer important to her previous owners and they abandoned her on the field. But Matilda did not lose her trust in people and sought help. Now, Matilda lives in a temporary home. She behaves excellently there. The foster mother is very satisfied with her: “Matilda is smart. She is a very obedient girl. She loves being near us. As soon as we are home, she follows us everywhere, even on car rides. She looks very much out the window. To other dogs, she is very friendly. She can invite play, but not in a pushy way. But she loves people even more, especially children. With them, she could play endlessly.” Matilda fits perfectly with: a family with children, she will be a faithful friend and companion to a couple or a single person, she gives warmth, loyalty, and joy in living together. For those who already have pets, she fits in easily and befriends everyone. If you give Matilda a home, you will not only get a faithful friend who is happy to see you return home, but also a cheerful companion for walks, play, and travels.

About Matilda(reserviert)

What life with Matilda(reserviert) looks like

Matilda(reserviert) is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Russische Tiere in Not e.V. in Gladbeck.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Matilda(reserviert), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Matilda(reserviert)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Russische Tiere in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Matilda(reserviert) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Matilda(reserviert) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Russische Tiere in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Matilda(reserviert) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Matilda(reserviert) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Russische Tiere in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Matilda(reserviert) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
