Max – Can’t Touch This! Ladies and gentlemen, we’d like to introduce you to a dog—a genuine, bona fide dog—one who still remembers perfectly well that he descends from the wolf. He also knows that while humans can be useful, they’re not absolutely essential. So he’ll fiercely defend his resources—and as a lone wolf and, naturally, as the alpha animal he is, he certainly doesn’t want anyone poking around in his business! Yes, our Max has a bit of a status issue, and with his impressive set of teeth, he’s more than happy to make it clear when he feels his position isn’t being taken seriously. In his “court,” though—his human advisors and scholars—he’s actually quite fond of people—provided they’re not overly imposing types (those give him the creeps). After all, Max is eager to learn and highly motivated; he masters basic commands like “sit,” “stay,” “stand,” and “heel.” Despite his age, he remains remarkably agile, both mentally and physically. On the other hand, he just can’t seem to get along with other dogs—after all, they can’t open cans for him or teach him anything new anymore. So he’d prefer to be kept as an only dog. And understandably, children shouldn’t be part of the household either, since he’d definitely regard them as lower-ranking members. If you’ve always dreamed of owning a dog in its original form, then Max is the perfect match—for those willing to maintain a strict regime and earn their place within the pack. Attending dog school and undergoing individual behavior training are non-negotiable—but if you’re up to the challenge, putting your authority across while also respecting his boundaries, Max will become an amazing companion. Max – Can‘t touch this Meine Damen und Herren, wir präsentieren Ihnen einen Hund, einen waschechten Hund, einen Hund, der noch genau weiß, dass er vom Wolf abstammt. Er weiß auch, dass so ein Mensch nützlich sein kann, man ihn aber nicht zwangsläufig unbedingt braucht. Da verteidigt er SEINE Ressourcen und als einsamer Wolf und damit Alphatier möchte er selbstverständlich auch nicht angetatscht werden! Ja, unser Max hat ein Statusproblem und kann mit seinem stattlichen Gebiss auch zum Ausdruck bringen, wenn er sich in seiner Position nicht ernst genommen fühlt. In seinem Hofstaat, als Berater und Gelehrte, sind ihm Menschen dann aber doch ganz recht, solange es sich nicht unbedingt um große Männer handelt (die sind ihm nicht geheuer). Denn er ist durchaus lernwillig und motivierbar und beherrscht Grundkommandos wie Sitz, Platz, Steh und geht bei Fuß. Dabei zeigt er sich trotz seines Alters sehr agil, geistig wie körperlich. Mit anderen Hunden kann er sich hingegen nicht anfreunden, die können schließlich keine Dosen öffnen und ihm auch sonst nichts mehr beibringen. Er möchte also lieber als Einzelhund gehalten werden. Auch Kinder sollten sich verständlicherweise nicht im Haushalt befinden, da er diese in jedem Fall als rangniedriger ansehen würde. Wer allerdings schon immer mal einen Hund in seiner Ursprungsform haben wollte, der ist bei Max an der richtigen Adresse, sofern er bereit ist, ein strenges Regiment zu führen und sich seinen Platz im Rudel zu erarbeiten. Der Besuch in der Hundeschule und Verhaltenstraining im Einzelkontakt sind dabei nicht verhandelbar, werden aus Max aber einen tollen Begleiter machen, sofern man sich durchsetzen, aber auch seine Grenzen akzeptieren kann.
