adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Maxime has found her people! Her story: Are you looking for an elegant, athletic companion in the prime of her life? Then Maxime could be the perfect match for you. Maxime came from Romania and was the favorite of her foster caregivers. With lots of love and best wishes for her life with and among people, she was released. She has now arrived at her foster home and is waiting there for her own home. Quickly, she found her dog bed to rest and sleep – cozy and safe. The approximately 6.5-year-old Husky lady shows herself to be a friendly, open-minded being. She loves people very much, enjoys contact, and fits well into family life. She would also feel comfortable with older children. Typical Husky, she loves long walks, loves excursions on a leash, and enthusiastically explores meadows and fields. Maxime is compatible with fellow animals of both sexes. In her new home, she is expected to become even more active and look forward to regular mental stimulation, exercise, and many shared adventures. A breed-specific need for movement and mental work should be considered to ensure she remains balanced and happy over the long term. We are looking for responsible, dog-experienced adopters who will support Maxime with a gentle introduction, lovingly and patiently, ensuring her physical and mental well-being and giving her a sense of security. Attending a positively working dog training class can also help Maxime further strengthen her self-confidence and bond with her new owners. If you would like to give Maxime a loving home, please contact us. She looks forward to experiencing new adventures with you. The beautiful Maxime travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with an EU pet passport to her new home. She will be arriving after a positive: Do you want to adopt Maxime and give her a loving home? Then contact us. We thank the namesake Julia M. for giving Maxime her name and thus her own identity. Status: 30.08. Gets along with other dogs.

Stand: 30.08.2025

About Maxime

What life with Maxime looks like

Maxime is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Maxime, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Maxime?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Maxime on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Maxime if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Maxime already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Maxime isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Maxime and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
