Megan (collie)

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 6 months

💙 MEGAN – A COLLIE WHO WILL STEAL YOUR HEART 💙 Honestly, we think Megan might just be one of the most stunning collies we’ve met in a very long time! 😍 With her beautiful merle coat and that long, pointy, fox-like face, she’s an absolute head-turner. But as gorgeous as she is on the outside, it’s what’s on the inside that makes Megan so incredibly special. 🩷 Megan arrived with us from the pound after giving birth to seven beautiful babies, and what a fabulous mum she has been. Sadly, some of her babies were double merles, and we have already lost one little soul, with two more currently being cared for in foster. 💔 Through everything, Megan has continued to be the most attentive, loving and devoted mum. She really has given those babies everything. Now, we’d love to find this very special girl a home of her own to look forward to when her mothering duties are finished. 🏡 Megan is one of those dogs who just gets right under your skin. She’s super affectionate, adores her humans and absolutely loves being close to you. Sit down on the floor beside her or climb into bed for a cuddle, and she’ll be up on your knee quicker than you can blink! 😂❤️ Belly rubs are very much her thing, and she’ll happily spend an entire afternoon lying beside you, tummy in the air, soaking up all the love and attention you can give her. She’s a cuddler, a sweetheart and a girl who simply loves her people. She also gets on well with other dogs, which is lovely to see. Because Megan has been busy raising her babies in our puppy unit, she hasn’t yet had the opportunity to get out and explore the world with us. We haven’t started walks or discovered all the things she might enjoy, as her focus has quite rightly been on feeding and caring for her puppies. What we can tell you is that she’s a settled, super-lovable girl with so much affection to give. We can’t wait to see her begin the next chapter of her life, where someone can finally spoil her as much as she deserves. 💕 ✨ Could Megan be the girl you’ve been waiting for? If you’re looking for a beautiful collie with a huge heart, a loving nature and a serious talent for cuddles, Megan could be your girl! 📩 Please keep an eye on our website for details on applying to adopt Megan once she’s ready to leave her babies behind. Let’s find this wonderful girl the happy ending she deserves. 🏡💗

About Megan (collie)

What life with Megan (collie) looks like

Megan (collie) is an extra-large puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Almost Home Animal Rescue NI in Belfast.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Megan (collie), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Megan (collie)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Almost Home Animal Rescue NI handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Megan (collie) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Megan (collie) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Almost Home Animal Rescue NI will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Megan (collie) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Megan (collie) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Almost Home Animal Rescue NI early rather than rehoming privately; they know Megan (collie) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
