Voor deze kat zoeken we een thuis waar ze niet naar buiten kan of in een veilig afgesloten tuin of koer indien ze dat wenst. Karakter en achtergrond van de kat: tKattenkompas werd gecontacteerd omdat een gezin dringend opvang nodig had voor hun twee volwassen katten. Ze gingen naar het buitenland verhuizen en het was onmogelijk om hen mee te nemen. Melo kwam samen met Pepsi in opvang. Melo kwam in opvang en de eerste weken was het voor haar wel aanpassen. Ze stak zich wat meer weg en liet zich niet zomaar aaien. Na verloop van tijd is het vertrouwen gegroeid en is ze veranderd in een katje die kan genieten van de aandacht van haar mensjes. Een kandidaat adoptant moet er zich dus bewust van zijn dat ze de nodige tijd moeten geven om haar te laten wennen. Eenmaal ze haar plaats gevonden heeft is ze zeer lief en toont ze dit door constant kopjes te geven en in de buurt van haar mensjes te lopen. Ze kan zeker ook samen geplaatst worden met andere katjes, maar ze zal ze niet zelf opzoeken en ze verkiest de aandacht van mensen. Het is een volwassen dame, dus ze verkiest zachte slaapplaatsjes en de rust. Een rustig, warm gezin met lekker eten en voldoende aandacht is voor haar ideaal. Tijdens haar verblijf in het opvanggezin werden een aantal slechte tandjes verwijderd. Daarvan is ze volledig hersteld en ze is nu klaar voor haar eigen plaatsje. Alle katten zijn ontvlooid, ontwormd, gevaccineerd, gesteriliseerd, gechipt en geregistreerd. Melo is getest op aids en leucose en testte negatief voor beide. We vragen de gebruikelijke tussenkomst in de dierenartskosten van 210 euro per kat omdat beide vaccinaties al gegeven werden. Adoptieprocedure: Er wordt eerst telefonisch nagegaan of er een goede match kan zijn tussen jou en de kat, nadien kan een afspraak gemaakt worden voor een bezoekje zodat jullie met elkaar kunnen kennis maken. Bij adoptie wordt een adoptiecontract getekend en de adoptiebijdrage wordt betaald bij het afhalen van de kat. Iedere kat vertrekt met een Europees paspoort.
