If Melody were a song, it would spread unbridled liveliness and always leave someone in a good mood. A sunny summer song. A northern German summer song! For Melody has traveled from the deepest Romania to the German Baltic coast. A significant step for the black, beautiful, and scruffy mouse! But Melody can do much more than just spread good cheer! And that's what she shows in her foster home. For her foster mom, she is the world's most beloved dog. "Melli," as she is affectionately called here, integrated super well into the existing pack of dogs from the very first day and felt at home very quickly. Snuggling, walking, playing, and eating…that is now her world, and there she finally feels safe and well taken care of. She likes all people, knows children, and gets along well with the city's calm conditions. Of course, the most beautiful thing for her is a walk by the sea, where she can really let off some steam on the beach. After years of being in a kennel in Romania, she is finally doing so well. What she still lacks in her life is her very own family or her very own person. She wants to finally arrive somewhere and never have to move again! The special female dog was compatible with both male and female dogs in the shelter. She also gets along super well with all the dogs in her foster home, and she also likes the neighboring dogs she knows. She currently has one insecurity, and that are dog encounters "out there." Strangers' dogs while walking make her apparently still feel afraid, and she becomes uneasy. However, a trainer is currently working on this, because of course, we want to understand what Melody is unsettled about and work through this dilemma with her. With good, positively reinforced training, Melody will surely learn a lot more. She is a very curious and eager-to-learn female dog. A visit to a dog training class that works with positive reinforcement would surely also please her very much with her forever people. Headwork, dog sports, search work…we can definitely imagine that for her. Our wonderful scruffy Melli is an absolute dream companion for all life situations. With her by your side, everything is sure to be twice as much fun! With her 55 cm height, she also has the ideal size for that. Currently, the faithful soul is around 5 years old. Our sunbeam came to the shelter as a young pup because the people in the village where she was staying did not want her there. They wanted to kill her. That's why she was saved by our local volunteers and found refuge in our shelter. There, "Melli" waited far too long to be allowed to travel. Black dogs have it very hard. Melody has a shortened tail, so her entry into Switzerland is denied. She is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas, has an EU pet passport, and can be adopted after a positive Schenkenstiftung. Monika V.! You gave Melody her name! Melody hat es vom tiefsten Rumänien an die deutsche Ostseeküste verschlagen. Ein bedeutender Schritt für die schwarze wunderschöne Zottelmaus! Jetzt sucht sie ihre Herzensmenschen. Sie lebt momentan in einer tollen Pflegestelle mit einer Hündin und einem Rüden zusammen und fühlt sich pudelwohl. Auch die Nachbarshunde kommen oft zu Besuch und dann wird ausgiebig gespielt. Für ihre Pflegemama ist „Melli“, wie sie hier genannt wird, der liebste Hund der Welt. Sie hat sich vom ersten Tag an super in das bestehende Hunderudel integriert und fühlte sich sehr schnell Zuhause. Melli liebt Menschen, besonders die Kleinen unter uns, die mag sie sehr. Idealerweise sollten die Kinder bereits um die sieben Jahre oder älter sein. Natürlich ist das Schönste für sie der Spaziergang am Meer oder auf einer Wiese, wo sie sich so richtig austoben kann. Nach der jahrelangen Zwingerhaft in Rumänien geht es ihr jetzt endlich so richtig gut. Kuscheln, Spazierengehen, Spielen und Essen…das ist jetzt ihre Welt und da fühlt die Wuscheline sich endlich geborgen und gut aufgehoben. In ihrer lieben Pflegefamilie durfte sie bereits einiges lernen. Melody ist bereits stubenrein, läuft an der Leine und Autofahren ist eines ihrer liebsten Hobbies. Was ihr noch fehlt in ihrem Leben, das ist ihre ganz eigene Familie oder ihr eigener Mensch. Sie möchte endlich für immer ankommen und nie mehr umziehen müssen! Wir suchen für Melody ein eher ländliches Zuhause, denn der Trubel der Stadt überfordert sie und stresst sie dazu unnötig. Durch zu viele Reize von außen ist sie bei Spaziergängen daher auch schnell bei Hundebegegnungen überfordert. Unsere Melody wünscht sich Wiesen, Bäume und Natur, keinen Autolärm und volle Straßen. Ein richtiges Landei eben! Mit einem guten, positiv verstärkenden Training wird Melody sicher noch viel lernen. Sie ist eine sehr neugierige und lernwillige Hündin. Der Besuch einer positiv arbeitenden Hundeschule würde ihr sicher auch mit ihren Für-Immer-Menschen sehr gut gefallen. Kopfarbeit, Hundesport, Sucharbeit…wir können uns das für sie sehr gut vorstellen. Unser Sonnenschein kam als Junghündin ins Shelter, weil die Menschen in dem Dorf, in dem sie sich aufhielt, sie dort nicht haben wollten. Sie wollten sie töten. Deshalb wurde sie von unseren Ehrenamtlichen vor Ort gerettet und sie fand in unserem Shelter Unterschlupf. Dort wartete sie dann viel zu lange darauf ausreisen zu dürfen. Schwarze Hunde haben es eben sehr schwer. Melody hat eine verkürzte Rute, daher ist ihr die Einreise in die Schweiz verwehrt. Sie ist kastriert, gechipt, geimpft, entwurmt und entfloht, besitzt einen EU-Heimtierausweis und kann nach positiver Vorkontrolle und gegen eine Schutzgebühr in ihre neue Familie ziehen.
