Adopt Mexx - Malinois- DSH- Mix

Belgian Malinois · Male · Adult · 6 years

* Mexx is happy to have animal sponsors * Born: 2020, at the animal shelter since: 28.12.2024, male, neutered. Mexx came to us at the end of December 2024 after a severe biting incident. Here, he has shown himself to be friendly and cooperative so far. However, he finds the everyday life in the shelter very difficult, as he is very sensitive to stimuli and stress. As a working dog, he also lacks the necessary mental and physical activity. Within our means, we are currently working with him on his issues, such as: - Frustration tolerance - Impulse control - Calmness - Leash handling - Dog encounters. Mexx is not fundamentally incompatible. In a targeted, calm introduction, he shows himself to be very friendly towards confident female dogs. For Mexx, we are looking for people who are preferably experienced with the breed, without children, small animals, or cats, and who are aware of the task and responsibility of a behaviorally challenging dog and enjoy working with Mexx. Our dog training classes are ready to support Mexx's future owners. Share this page Copy link To protect the animals to be rehomed and to cover costs, we charge an adoption fee per animal.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mexx - Malinois- DSH- Mix, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mexx - Malinois- DSH- Mix?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mexx - Malinois- DSH- Mix on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mexx - Malinois- DSH- Mix if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mexx - Malinois- DSH- Mix already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mexx - Malinois- DSH- Mix isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mexx - Malinois- DSH- Mix and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
