adoption requirements adoption process Request this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Request this dog now! Michael is still at the very beginning of his young life, and he absolutely shouldn’t have to spend this crucial time in a young dog’s life behind bars. Michael is currently 4 months old and stands 45 cm tall at the moment. Since he’s still growing, it’s very likely he’ll become a large, handsome male dog. The little guy has a shortened tail and beautiful black, white, and brown fur. His dark eyes gaze into the world with intelligence and curiosity. Full of hope for a happy future—and we’d never want that hope to fade. Michael is an extremely friendly young pup who would love nothing more than cuddles all day long. He’s curious and, as befits his age, playful. Compatibility with other dogs and cats hasn't been tested yet. Do you wish to welcome a puppy into your heart and your life? We completely understand—but we’re looking for responsible people who are fully aware beforehand of the responsibility and upcoming challenges involved. A furry companion like Michael brings immeasurable joy and laughter into a family, but also plenty of work. Michael still needs to learn all the basics of dog training—everything from housebreaking and car rides to walking calmly on a leash. The little fellow will need your support to master all of this. Patient and empathetic people who can guide Michael with clear, consistent, and loving leadership are exactly what he needs. Like every puppy, Michael will soon enter adolescence—a thrilling phase. Hormones go on a rollercoaster ride, and for our beloved furry friends, this mainly means testing boundaries and occasionally acting as if they’ve forgotten everything they’ve learned. That’s precisely when a stable environment and routines become invaluable. Attending positively reinforced dog training classes can also provide valuable support during this time. Is Michael your heart dog? Then please send us your self-disclosure form. And if you have the capacity and desire to offer him a temporary home, we’d be incredibly grateful for a foster home as well. Michael is packed and ready to go, with his EU pet passport in hand. He’ll travel to his new family microchipped, vaccinated, treated for fleas, and dewormed. Following a positive placement: The name Michael was a gift for Zoe! Thank you to the naming sponsor! As of: 05.05.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 05.05.2026

About Michael

What life with Michael looks like

Michael is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Michael, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Michael?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Michael on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Michael if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Michael already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Michael isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Michael and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
