Milhouse

Greyhound · Male

Hello from your big gentle boy who loves nothing more than napping in between sleeps! What his foster pawrents say: "He's just a very relaxed dog, and he seems quite content to go for walks and then roach on the sofa for the evening." Milhouse has settled into his foster home beautifully and has very quickly made himself at home with his foster family 🏡. He has embraced his new routine, enjoying his walks and then happily settling down for some serious sofa time 🛋. And that really does sum up this lovely boy. Milhouse has a wonderfully calm and easygoing temperament. He loves attention, enjoys being close to his people and greets his foster family with the happiest wagging tail. Super cutie Milhouse has officially left kennel life behind forever and moved into his loving foster home in Dublin, and just in time to celebrate his 2nd birthday! 🎂 And what a way to celebrate. Surrounded by the love and comforts of a cosy foster home. Soft beds, ear rubs, naps, toys and the beginning of a whole new chapter. We could not be happier for this sweet boy 🥳. A heartfelt THANK YOU to Adam, Jane and Gareth for responding to our foster appeal and giving Milhouse the chance to begin his journey towards his Happily Ever After 🙏. His foster family describe him as a very sweet boy. Rumour has it that he loves his ear rubs and naps, and as of yesterday, he has even started playing with his toy crocodile 🐊. A true sign of a happy houndie beginning to settle in. A sincere THANK YOU to Milhouse's transport team, Caroline, Tony and Sam, who kindly ensured that he arrived safely at his foster home. Your time, effort and support are so greatly appreciated. 💙 Calm, easygoing, affectionate and loving 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Friendly with people and dogs alike 🐕 Happy sharing with another hound 👶 Comfortable around children 🎾 Playful and enjoys his toys, especially the crocodile 🤲 Comfortable being handled 🧻 Toilet training going really well 😴 Sleeps through the night 🛋 Loves his walks, followed by serious sofa time Milhouse is currently in foster in Dublin. About Milhouse

What life with Milhouse looks like

Milhouse is a large adult greyhound dog waiting at RIGHT - Rehoming Irish Greyhounds Team in Dublin.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Milhouse, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Milhouse?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RIGHT - Rehoming Irish Greyhounds Team handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Milhouse on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Milhouse if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RIGHT - Rehoming Irish Greyhounds Team will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Milhouse already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Milhouse isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RIGHT - Rehoming Irish Greyhounds Team early rather than rehoming privately; they know Milhouse and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
