Millie

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel · Female · Adult · 6 years

Millie would love to spend her days mooching around and exploring new places before cwtching up on the sofa with her family in the evenings. She is housetrained, although she may need the occasional reminder, especially when it’s raining! Millie doesn’t like being on her own and she can be quite a loud little lady when she feels left behind, so she needs a family that can spend a lot of time with her and be patient with helping her feel secure & settled in the home. She is also a bit of a scavenger, so she’ll need help to learn what she’s allowed to eat and when! We love this little sweetheart, and we know she will make her new family so happy. Meet Millie, our beautiful 6-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel! Millie is a very sweet girl who could live with children as young as 4yrs – she is a massive foodie though, so careful supervision around snacks and small toys is a must! She could also live with other dogs, although they would need to be kept separate during mealtimes as Millie does not like sharing! Millie really loves her people, and she can be vocal when she’s left on her own, so she would prefer a quieter home where her family will be with her most of the day. Any potential adopters should be willing to work on her anxieties around being left by herself and build her confidence up slowly. Millie is such an affectionate girl with so much love to give, and we can’t wait to see her thrive in her perfect home!

About Millie

What life with Millie looks like

Millie is a small adult cavalier king charles spaniel dog waiting at Dogs Trust Cardiff in Cardiff.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Millie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Millie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Cardiff handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Millie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Millie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Cardiff will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Millie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Millie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Cardiff early rather than rehoming privately; they know Millie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
