Milly – insecure female dog looking for her people Country of origin (= current country of residence): Switzerland Country of birth: Bulgaria Weight: currently approx. 8 kg Hello, big world out there! My name is Milly, and just a few days ago I traveled to Switzerland from Bulgaria with my siblings. In Bulgaria, we were found in the woods with our mom when we were still very tiny. Since then, we’ve been raised at the local animal shelter, which sadly meant we didn’t get to experience much of the world. Now that we’re here in Switzerland, we’re all hoping to find loving forever homes. I’m still a bit shy and tend to let my siblings take the lead in new or unfamiliar situations. But once I realize things aren’t so scary after all, I gather up all my courage and start exploring step by step. My siblings give me confidence, although sometimes I can be a bit of a sassy little diva 😊—for example, I won’t let the others into my little bed! I don’t know the dog ABCs yet, so I’d really love to attend dog training classes. Right now, I’m slowly learning what it’s like to walk on a leash. I’m looking for a home with understanding people who can offer me security and patiently show me everything at my own pace. Please read the following information sheet carefully first, so you can fully understand the needs of this particular type of animal. If you’re interested, please fill out the application form and send it to . Important: Please only apply if you are ready to adopt soon—if you have upcoming vacations, a move, or similar plans, please wait until those are over. We want to avoid our animals staying in the animal shelter any longer than absolutely necessary.

Milly - unsichere Hündin sucht ihre Menschen Herkunftsland (=aktuelles Aufenthaltsland): Schweiz Zuchtland (=Geburtsland): Bulgarien Gewicht: aktuell ca. 8kg Hallo grosse Welt da draussen. About Milly

What life with Milly looks like

Milly is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Tierpension Strubeli in Switzerland.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Milly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Milly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Tierpension Strubeli handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Milly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Milly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Tierpension Strubeli will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Milly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Milly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Tierpension Strubeli early rather than rehoming privately; they know Milly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
