Milo

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Milo is a friendly, social, and cheerful 3-year-old Terrier mix weighing 9 kg at 35 cm shoulder height who is waiting for his chance in Bulgaria. Milo's owner suddenly passed away and he is now being cared for by neighbors and an animal rights activist in the house and garden. However, this is not a substitute for a loving family and a safe home. Milo is very people-oriented, enjoys children, likes socially compatible playmates to run around with, but doesn't like cats and they are not allowed in his new home. Milo needs daily exercise and should not be moved to the city center. He loves exciting, enduring walks. A garden is familiar to him for relaxation, observing neighbors, and spending quality time with his humans and playmates. We strongly recommend that potential owners attend a dog school from the start. We currently doubt whether Milo can safely stay alone in a new environment, as he has just lost his owner, so it would be great if he could come to an office and practice staying alone calmly and patiently. Milo is a great guy who deserves a suitable family. He is vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and tested negative for MME with a Snap 4-D test. He is in Bulgaria and will soon be placed in foster care. The adoption fee is €580. Do you have a suitable home for Milo? ♂, geb.

About Milo

What life with Milo looks like

Milo is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. in Berlin.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Milo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Milo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Milo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Milo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Milo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Milo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Milo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
