adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Minka has found her home! Her story: 49808 Lingen. The little Minka was allowed to travel abroad at the beginning of February and is now urgently in need of a new home or a foster home! Minka is a cute puppy baby that needs to first recover from the exhausting journey and the goodbye to her siblings. However, she is very open and friendly. She is looking for contact with humans and wants to cuddle and play. Our Minka has of course still got to learn the entire dog ABC. She has already announced since day one when she needs to go out. We are now urgently looking for people who want to go through life with her in a loving atmosphere and with fun, humor, and patience. Due to the mixed-breed nature of Minka, a specific breed cannot be determined. We are looking for people who appreciate a mixed breed and can also appropriately challenge and guide them. In addition to good physical exertion, mental and cognitive work should be on the daily program. A positively reinforcing training style and a consistent and loving upbringing are assumed. A visit to a positively working dog training class can only be of advantage. During the first year of life, dogs should be as little alone as possible. Additionally, the more exhausting puberty phase is still ahead. And it affects every dog, regardless of whether small or large, male or female. The hormone chaos turns the lives of the little rascals upside down. They “forget” often everything they have learned so far, and the ears are on full blast. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to train consistently—but lovingly. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Minka is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She will be rehomed only after a positive check and for an adoption fee of 450 Euro. She brings her EU pet passport with her. Who wants to meet Minka? Many thanks, Sonja D.! You named Minka!

Vielen Dank Sonja D.! Du hast Minka ihren Namen geschenkt!

About Minka

What life with Minka looks like

Minka is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Minka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Minka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Minka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Minka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Minka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Minka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Minka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
