Adopt Misia

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 7 years

Misia is an adult female dog whose story touches the heart – after 7 years spent in a home she knew since puppyhood, she was returned from adoption. This is a dog who struggled greatly with losing stability, which affected her emotions. Although in the past she showed aggressive behavior towards strangers and children, in the Shelter, under the care of people who understand her needs, she shows a completely different side: affectionate, intelligent and eager to be a companion. In shelter conditions, Misia is trouble-free with caregivers – she loves cuddles and cooperation for treats. On walks, she is a confident female dog, who after an initial outburst of emotions (barking) beautifully explores the area, responds to calls and ignores street traffic. She feels great in the company of other dogs, often encouraging calmer ones to play. In a home, she maintains cleanliness perfectly, can rest politely and does not destroy things. However, she requires a responsible caregiver who will ensure her safety in stressful situations, such as at the veterinarian, where during disliked procedures (like nail trimming) she needs support in the form of a harness and clear communication. We are looking for a home for Misi that is active, very responsible, and exclusively without children or cats. She needs a guide who will set clear rules, provide some exercise and understand that her difficult past requires patience. In return, Misia will repay with great loyalty and be a loyal partner during long adventures. — METRICS — 🧮 Age: 12/2017 🚻 Gender: female dog 🐾 Size: 15.40 kg 🏀 Activity: high ❤️ Neutering: yes ℹ️ Chip: yes 💉 Vaccinations: yes 📍 Location:

Choć w przeszłości wykazywała zachowania agresywne wobec obcych i dzieci, w Azylu, pod opieką osób znających jej potrzeby, pokazuje zupełnie inne oblicze: kontaktowej, inteligentnej i chętnej do pracy towarzyszki. About Misia

What life with Misia looks like

Misia is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Misia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Misia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Misia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Misia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Misia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Misia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Misia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
