Misty and Marvin would like access to outdoors in their forever home, but will need to be kept STRICTLY indoors for at least 8 weeks to give them chance to get to know their new humans and settle into their new home. We were brought into the sanctuary through no fault of our own. Unfortunately, our owners were moving back to their home country and could not take us with them.I (Misty) took the move quite personally, I was obviously very settled in our home and it took me a few weeks to settle in here. Yes, I took it out on these humans and was very grumpy towards them to begin with, but did eventually settle when I realised they were my friends and I got used to my new surroundings. Once I finally showed my real personality, my carer began to see that I was just as my previous owner had described me- lazy but very friendly, although I will still tell you off if you annoy me or if I want to be left alone. My brother Marvin is even friendlier than me! He wants constant cuddles and affection and will follow the humans around. I can however be a bit of a bully to him (I was told I have to be honest!) and took my frustrations about moving home and the fact that I don’t like other cats and there is a lot of them here, out on him. I do love him but sometimes he just gets on my nerves and I just feel myself shouting at him or punching him- oops. Sadly, this has gotten to him a little and made him a bit sad, so he can now be temperamental and grumpy sometimes, especially when it’s time to go back into our pen. Our carer thinks that after having a whole house to ourselves we are struggling with being in a small space together and not getting much time apart. Although, when in our pen, we are always seen sharing a bed! Once we are in a home again and have space to get away from each other when we want to, our carer hopes that we will calm down again and our true personalities (without as much grumpiness) will shine through again. We are both playful as we are still young, we love a good play with a feather wand or some stinky catnip/ valerian toys, but do not like to share! So, enough toys for the both of us will be needed in our new home please! Something else we don’t like to share is the humans. When we want attention or are having fuss from a human, this can lead to arguments sometimes, so you have to make sure you fuss us both at the same time or that there is more than one human to give out extra cuddles.

About Misty & Marvin

What life with Misty & Marvin looks like

Misty & Marvin is a small young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Wythall Animal Sanctuary in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Misty & Marvin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Misty & Marvin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Wythall Animal Sanctuary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Misty & Marvin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Misty & Marvin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Wythall Animal Sanctuary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Misty & Marvin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Misty & Marvin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Wythall Animal Sanctuary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Misty & Marvin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
