Mochi

Mixed Breed Cat · Female · Kitten

Hi there I am the gorgeous Mochi and I came to YCR with my mummy and siblings after we were found hiding behind garages. They have all gone to their forever homes but I have been poorly so I had to stay here a bit longer. The folks here have been investigating why I was so poorly and I am getting better now but I need to stay on B12 supplements and will need a blood test in a few weeks to check my levels. It is possible that I may need to stay on these for life. The folks here will explain this more if you are interested in adopting me and will pay for the blood test. I am a very sweet girl who loves fuss and attention and causing kitten chaos. If you think I am the right girl for you please apply here. I can't wait to meet you xx

About Mochi

What life with Mochi looks like

Mochi is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat cat waiting at Yorkshire Cat Rescue in United Kingdom.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mochi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mochi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Yorkshire Cat Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mochi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mochi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Yorkshire Cat Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mochi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mochi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Yorkshire Cat Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mochi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
