Personality:Poor Findus came into our care after being a stray. He was trapped by a kind member of the public who took him to a vet due to severe matting on his sides. During his time with us, Findus has became more relaxed around people he knows as long as they are at a distance and he has choice and control to move away if he wishes too. Behaviour:With his trusted handlers Findus will sit at distance and offer a few slow blinks to show he feels comfortable with them being nearby. He will usually spend 15 minutes sat watching them, grooming himself or using his favourite scratching board before going back into his outside run, he can’t wait to be able to have the freedom to come and go as he pleases again. Findus can be a chatty boy who has a lot to say for himself at times. He’s growing in confidence daily and has started to feel brave enough to come out of his unit to explore the cattery floor. Housing:Due to Findus likely being a long term stray, it is unknown whether he has had much positive interaction with people, for this reason he would prefer to have a safe, secure, sheltered outbuilding or shed. Ideally, this would be either a summer house, shed or outbuilding in a garden, farm land, stables or an alternative similar set up. His adopters will need to use a hands off approach and either live onsite or visit the site at least twice a day to provide him with his essentials such as fresh food and water. It may be that he will prefer to live permanently like this but he may gradually build trust with his owners and surroundings and choose to live a more conventional lifestyle in a home. Children/pets:Considerations can be made for adopters with other pets depending on space and individual circumstances. Findus will need to be cared for by adults only and if children are onsite, they should be supervised at all times. Vet history:Findus is neutered, microchipped, flea, wormed and fully vaccinated. Findus has no known medical conditions. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption. Adoption fee:The adoption fee is £50. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated. Additional information:All rented and leasehold properties will require written consent from the property owner or agent. This needs to be in place before completing an application form. If your application is successful, staff will request a copy.We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the cat.Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance.
