Mona – simply magical. Mona was finally able to travel to a foster home in Germany. Here she is described as: "Mona moved in with us at the end of January and immediately proved to be a real gem. The lovely Podenco is reliably housebroken and has easily integrated into our daily routine. Initially, Mona showed many uncertainties, and even now she is still easily startled by loud, unexpected noises. She meets strangers rather shyly, but is always curious and seeks contact once someone sits down with her and gives her time. Mona is now familiar with everyday noises like the vacuum cleaner and hairdryer, although she would rather do without the first one. Soon, Mona learned to love the daily walks. She is a cheerful companion, even on longer walks, and is happy about every dog contact. On a leash, she walks very well, and in the enclosed off-leash area, she already responds to calls. Mona gets along very well with our young male dog and the cats, and in this combination, she can easily be left alone for an appropriate period of time. Even though Mona lives with a small child here, she would certainly benefit from a calmer household with older children." A slightly positive test result for leishmaniasis was found in Mona, which may soon become negative. Mona – einfach nur zauberhaft Mona durfte endlich auf eine Pflegestelle nach Deutschland reisen. Hier wird sie so beschrieben: „Mona ist Mitte Januar zu uns auf Pflegestelle gezogen und zeigte sich bereits von Beginn an als wahres Goldstück. Die hübsche Podenca ist zuverlässig stubenrein und hat sich unkompliziert in unseren Alltag eingefügt. Anfänglich zeigte Mona viele Unsicherheiten und auch heute ist sie bei lauten, unerwarteten Geräuschen noch schreckhaft. Fremden begegnet sie eher zurückhaltend, dabei ist sie aber stets neugierig und sucht den Kontakt, sobald man sich zu ihr setzt und ihr Zeit lässt. Alltagsgeräusche wie Staubsauger und Föhn kennt sie inzwischen, auch wenn sie auf ersteres gern verzichten könnte. Schnell hat Mona vor allem die täglichen Spaziergänge lieben gelernt. Hier ist sie eine fröhliche Begleiterin, auch auf größeren Runden und freut sich über jeden Hundekontakt. An der Leine läuft sie sehr fein und im eingezäunten Freilauf gelingt auch schon der ein oder andere Rückruf. Mit unserem jungen Rüden und den Katzen kommt Mona sehr gut zurecht und bleibt in dieser Konstellation auch problemlos eine angemessene Zeit allein.Auch wenn Mona bei uns mit einem Kleinkind zusammen lebt, würde sie von einem ruhigeren Haushalt mit älteren Kindern sicherlich profitieren..“ Bei Mona wurde ein leicht positiver Test bei der Leishmaniose festgestellt, der eventuell bald negativ sein wird.
