Monti, a 8-year-old Chihuahua, is looking for a safe place. Monti came to us with Pablo and a cat because her owner could no longer care for her animals. When Monti arrived, she was completely matted and had extremely long nails. She wouldn't leave her safe spot and found everything very exciting. We gave her time and tried to approach her gently. It soon became clear that her reaction was mainly due to discomfort and pain. One of her nails had even grown into her pad, which must have been extremely painful. After her nails were trimmed, a very different dog emerged: a happy, sweet Monti. Monti doesn't like crowds and needs a quiet and respectful approach. When she gets overwhelmed or feels uncomfortable, she can snap. It's therefore important that her future owner can read her boundaries well and give her time to build trust. Monti still loves a quiet walk. And when she knows and trusts you, she loves to snuggle up on your lap. Monti didn't like Pablo's energetic nature, so we chose to separate them. We don't expect problems with calm dogs. A household with young children is probably too busy for Monti, so we're looking for a quiet place for her. We're looking for a patient owner who wants to help Monti build trust at her own pace. A quiet home where she can feel safe and where she can discover how nice it is to be a dog again. Een veilig plekje gezocht voor een heel bijzonder hondje. Dit is Monti, een Chihuahua van ongeveer 8 jaar oud. Monti kwam samen met Pablo en een kat bij ons terecht, omdat hun eigenaar helaas niet meer voor haar dieren kon zorgen. Toen Monti bij ons binnenkwam, zat hij volledig in de klit en had hij ontzettend lange nagels. Hij wilde haar veilige hoekje niet verlaten en vond alles duidelijk erg spannend. We hebben hem rustig de tijd gegeven en voorzichtig geprobeerd te benaderen. Al snel bleek dat zijn reactie vooral voortkwam uit ongemak en pijn. Eén van zijn nageltjes was zelfs in zijn kussentje gegroeid, wat natuurlijk ontzettend pijnlijk moet zijn geweest. Nadat zijn nagels waren geknipt, zagen we een heel ander hondje tevoorschijn komen: een vrolijke, lieve Monti. Monti houdt niet van drukte en heeft behoefte aan een rustige en respectvolle benadering. Wanneer het hem te veel wordt of hij zich ongemakkelijk voelt, kan hij happen. Het is daarom belangrijk dat haar toekomstige baasje zijn grenzen goed kan lezen en hem de tijd geeft om vertrouwen op te bouwen. Een rustig blokje om vindt Monti nog altijd heerlijk. En wanneer hij je eenmaal kent en vertrouwt, kruipt hij het liefst lekker bij je op schoot. Monti vond Pablo te druk, waardoor we ervoor hebben gekozen om hen uit elkaar te halen. Met rustige honden verwachten we geen problemen. Een huishouden met jonge kinderen is voor Monti waarschijnlijk te druk en daarom zoeken we voor hem een rustig plekje. Voor Monti zoeken we een geduldig baasje dat op zijn eigen tempo vertrouwen wil laten opbouwen.
