Adopt Moro

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Moro is a young, medium-sized biscuit-colored dog who used to trust people unconditionally. Unfortunately, someone broke his trust - he was abandoned and now shares his daily life with other dogs in the shelter kennel. This place is completely unsuitable for Moro - he badly tolerates the animal shelter - being enclosed, noise, strange faces. He is withdrawn, distrustful, and sometimes reacts with a growl when something causes him distress. But we know that behind this shell of fear lies a dog who once loved with all his heart - and who would love again very much. He just needs time, calmness and patience to trust again. We are looking for a calm, experienced home for him, without small children, but with caretakers who will understand his fears and give him the space he needs. We believe that when he feels safe, Moro will show his true nature - a loyal, grateful dog who will dare to trust again. If you have a big heart and want to help a dog who has not yet known his second chance - meet Moro. He is waiting for it very much.

About Moro

What life with Moro looks like

Moro is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Starogardzie Gdańskim in Poland.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Moro, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Moro?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Starogardzie Gdańskim handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Moro on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Moro if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Starogardzie Gdańskim will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Moro already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Moro isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Starogardzie Gdańskim early rather than rehoming privately; they know Moro and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
