Moses

Male · Senior · 12 years

Moses has so much love left to give and is waiting for someone to see how special he really is. If you would like to be the one to give this sweet boy the retirement he deserves, fill in an application and don't forget to 'Favourite' him! Moses is a gentle senior boy who is ready to enjoy his well-earned retirement. At 12 years old, he’s all about the simple pleasures in life from short, leisurely walks to cosy naps in a comfy bed in his forever home. He’s a lovely, gentle dog who will always greet you with a waggy tail, and all he really wants is to spend his golden years alongside a loving family. Moses especially loves beach walks, taking in the sights and smells at his own pace before heading home for a well-deserved snooze. He has been staying in a foster home, where he has shown just how affectionate and easy-going he can be in a home environment. He also still has a playful side and absolutely loves his toys, happily carrying them around and enjoying a gentle playtime. Moses is super friendly and could share his retirement home with a calm, gentle dog following successful meet and greets at the centre. He would suit a calm home with a relaxed routine and someone who can offer plenty of love, companionship, and comfy spots to curl up in.

About Moses

What life with Moses looks like

Moses is a senior dog waiting at Dogs Trust Ballymena in Ballymena.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Moses, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Moses?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Ballymena handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Moses on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Moses if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Ballymena will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Moses already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Moses isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Ballymena early rather than rehoming privately; they know Moses and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
