Mr B

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 10 years

Please read our Homing Criteria BEFORE applying for any of our dogs.BREED: PomeranianSEX: Male (neutered) AGE: Aprox. 10 YearsSIZE: Medium (8 kg) Meet Mr B he’s a Pomeranian cross, he’s 10 years old and a neutered male.We have been caring for Mr B since November last year.On arrival with us we noticed he had a problem with both of his knees. But we also discovered he to have some liver disease. This had to be treated before he could proceed to surgery on both knees. This will be an ongoing condition which he receives simple medication.Surgical procedures on both knees have proved very successful and has been followed up by an intensive course of physiotherapy. This has restored his full mobility. So now Mr B is looking for a loving permanent home. We thought we had found one with him, but sadly the potential adopter had to withdraw due to an issue with her own dog.Mr B is an absolute sweetie who deserves a fantastic home after all he has been through. He loves everyone but we do not know if he has lived with young children. He is great with other dogs and has met lots during his time here. Are you the special someone for this lovely dog? When a dog moves into a new home, they need time and consideration to help them feel confident and settled. They are having to adjust to a totally different environment, with new people and new challenges, and when one adopts a rescue dog, one must be ready to help them through not just the first few days, but for as long as it takes for them to feel comfortable in their new life. They are relying on their new owners to teach them the house rules and all about the new world they are living in. They are likely to need and benefit from dog training classes, and may also need behavioural help and the adopter may need to seek professional advice. If you are considering adopting, please be very sure that you are committed to the needs of your new friend, as they will be relying on you and their life and happiness is literally in your hands. This will last for their lifetime, so please also take an honest look at your age and activity levels and ensure that you are likely to be able to meet their ongoing needs. Please fill in our Application Form if you are interested in adopting this dog(If the animal’s name does not appear in the drop down box on the form - it means the animal is already reserved)

About Mr B

What life with Mr B looks like

Mr B is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at DBARC Animal Rescue Centre in United Kingdom.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mr B, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mr B?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. DBARC Animal Rescue Centre handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mr B on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mr B if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — DBARC Animal Rescue Centre will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mr B already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mr B isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with DBARC Animal Rescue Centre early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mr B and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
