Mulan liep al een tijdje aan een kleine rivier, waar zij probeerde te overleven. Mensen probeerden haar te benaderen, maar ze liep steeds weg. Er werd uiteindelijk een valkooi gezet en gelukkig konden ze haar na enkele dagen zover krijgen dat ze er in liep. Ze had echter een vreselijke wonde: de koord om haar nek - waarschijnlijk gebruikt om haar ergens aan vast te binden - was in haar nek gegroeid en vreselijk gaan ontsteken, er kropen zelfs maden in. Het was écht 5 voor 12 voor deze arme Podenca. Toen ze bij ons kwam kreeg ze onmiddellijk de nodige zorgen, de wonde werd schoongemaakt en uitgespoeld en ze kreeg de nodige medicatie. Haar toestand is onder controle en langzaamaan herstelt deze lieve meid. Mulan moet enorm veel pijn hebben gehad, en het mag een mirakel heten dat we haar hebben kunnen redden. Sinds ze bij ons is voelt ze zich ook mentaal al een stuk beter, ze voelt dat dit anders zit en goed komt. Laat ons nu werken aan de toekomst van deze moedige meid, die zo graag geknuffeld wordt en eindelijk een andere kant van het leven moet leren kennen!
