Nabil

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Nabil, a sweet and friendly dog, arrived at the animal shelter on June 18, 2026 as a stray found in Lajosmizse, Hungary, near a kindergarten. He was neither microchipped nor reported missing by anyone. Unfortunately, we do not know whether he was abandoned or ran away from home; it will remain his secret. However, one more wonderful four-legged friend is waiting to be discovered by loving people with whom he can spend his new life and be happy. Nabil is a sweet, friendly, and nice dog who was initially shy but is now becoming more confident and curious every day. But he needs some time as he has been bitterly disappointed and left behind by his owners, and the shelter situation also affects him. Nevertheless, he gratefully accepts all attention and affection. His greatest wish is to be loved, receive a lot of care and security, have a safe, soft sleeping place, and people who love him unconditionally and to whom he can give his heart. Nabil still needs some training and his owners should enjoy teaching him everything he doesn't know yet. He already walks well on a leash but is certainly improvable. He would probably be enthusiastic about mental and physical exercise at the right time. Maybe he will also have fun learning some tricks, but the main thing is that dog and humans have a good time together. Nabil gets along well with his fellow dogs and is currently (July 7, 2026) being integrated into a mixed pack. We are looking for a patient and dog-enthusiastic home for our charming Nabil where he can set the pace himself at first and no demands will be made of him. With loving people who like to spend time in nature, appreciate the company of a four-legged friend, provide leadership and security for Nabil, spoil him with many caresses, love, security, care, and give him 100% family connection. Whoever invests their time and love in Nabil will get a loyal companion. Who goes through thick and thin with Nabil? Nabil can travel from around the beginning/middle of August 2026 if he finds a home or foster home.

About Nabil

What life with Nabil looks like

Nabil is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nabil, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nabil?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nabil on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nabil if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nabil already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nabil isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nabil and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
