Adopt Neville

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Neville came to the animal shelter as a small puppy—simply thrown over the fence. Now grown into a young male dog, he remains very much a "big baby" in terms of his independent nature. He loves being close to people, actively seeks out contact, and enjoys every form of attention and affection. It's clear in the shelter environment how much stress affects him. Noise and chaos take a significant toll on his sensitive nature, and he struggles to adapt to the constant commotion. Especially striking is his behavior since visiting our treatment facility: Since learning about this quieter area, he refuses to return to his kennel. This clearly shows how much he craves a quiet, safe environment. Therefore, Neville is now allowed to stay in our treatment room. There, he feels much more comfortable, comes out to play and interact, and then retreats to his own "nest" made of blankets and towels to sleep—without ever destroying anything. Neville is a very sensitive, friendly, and affectionate dog who relishes the company of humans. He loves to cuddle and wishes for his own primary caregiver to whom he can cling. At the same time, he shows great social and compatible behavior with other dogs. He plays and romps happily, but can also settle down and relax if the environment allows it. As he doesn't push himself to the forefront, Neville has often been overlooked—yet he harbors an incredibly loving and clingy character that simply seeks security and safety. For Neville, we wish for a quiet home where he can finally belong. People with patience, empathy, and understanding for sensitive dogs who can provide clear structures without overwhelming him. An everyday life without constant stimulation would be ideal for him—full of proximity, calm, and affection. Neville is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and has an EU pet passport. He is ready for his journey into a new life—full of safety, affection, and security. We will take care of processing this as soon as possible!

Inzwischen darf Neville daher in unserem Behandlungsraum bleiben.

About Neville

What life with Neville looks like

Neville is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Arme Hundeseelen in Năsăud.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇷🇴Adopting from Romania

Romanian rescues handle the highest volume of cross-border adoptions in the EU. Animals are quarantined and fully vetted before transport. Reputable rescues maintain detailed health records and post-adoption follow-up.

Frequently asked

Adopting Neville, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Neville?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Arme Hundeseelen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Neville on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Neville if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Arme Hundeseelen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Neville already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Neville isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Arme Hundeseelen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Neville and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
