NILO – 9 ans – ♂︎

Mixed Breed · Male

Hello, I'm Nilo! I'm a 10-year-old Chihuahua and I'm far from being a small dog who spends his days sleeping. I love going out and sniffing absolutely everything that deserves my attention. Scent activities are clearly my thing, and when something interests me, I can spend a lot of time on it. However, staying static is not for me: as long as we are outside, let's explore! At home, I am calm and easy-going. My bed is my little refuge and I really appreciate having my space and my moments to myself. I understand quickly what is asked of me and I am very attentive to my environment. I like a few toys, with a special affection for my chicken plush. I am very attached to my humans and separations are difficult for me. I will need a family that is sufficiently present on a daily basis and especially ready to continue this learning gradually. It will be necessary to accept that it may take time and avoid confronting me brutally with long absences. I am also a sensitive little dog. Some sudden gestures can impress me, when something worries me, my first reflex is to seek refuge with my human. Small dog does not mean plush: I prefer to keep my four paws on the ground and have my space respected. With strangers, I can make friends when the approach is right. I even have a little weakness for some grandmothers met on walks! With other dogs, it's variable. I will not need to have a very busy canine social life and I will probably be more serene as the only dog in the house. I am a little dog with much more personality than my size might suggest. I will need a family that understands that I do not need to decide everything for me, but that we respect my rhythm, my spaces and my little worries, while helping me to gain confidence. Give me a blanket, nice walks, human presence and a little patience and your house will become mine.

About NILO – 9 ans – ♂︎

What life with NILO – 9 ans – ♂︎ looks like

NILO – 9 ans – ♂︎ is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Association Ron'Rhône in Lyon.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting NILO – 9 ans – ♂︎, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about NILO – 9 ans – ♂︎?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Association Ron'Rhône handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw NILO – 9 ans – ♂︎ on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt NILO – 9 ans – ♂︎ if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Association Ron'Rhône will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is NILO – 9 ans – ♂︎ already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if NILO – 9 ans – ♂︎ isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Association Ron'Rhône early rather than rehoming privately; they know NILO – 9 ans – ♂︎ and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
