Nokart

French Bulldog · Male · Senior · 9 years

Nokart – a special dog is searching for sensitive people Nokart was found and has been waiting with us for far too long for his chance. He is a friendly, people-oriented male dog with a big heart and a gentle nature. He masters the basic commands, is house-trained, and shows great calmness on walks. What sets me apart is that I am clingy and very people-oriented – a typical representative of my breed. I know the basic commands, can ride in the car, and am house-trained. I can live in the city if my everyday life at home is more quiet. I love walks, but they have to be shorter due to my poor locomotor system. I have a Megaesophagus, an extension of the esophagus. I must therefore be fed in an upright position – our animal caretakers will gladly show you how easy this is. Additionally, I should stay on an easily mopped floor after eating, as I often throw up if the food doesn’t make it to my stomach. Once the food is in my stomach, vomiting is no longer an issue. My animal caretakers believe that it will adapt quickly at home. What I need to work on at first, I bit the leash in stressful situations – meanwhile, this training has been addressed – it should continue in my new home – my animal caretaker team will gladly show you how. What I am looking for is a home that understands my conditions – a dog bed in a small apartment would suffice – the entrance to the apartment must be barrier-free, as I can no longer climb stairs – a building with an elevator would be great. Because of my Megaesophagus, I must be fed in an upright position – we manage this well, and my team will gladly show you how. Children overwhelm me, so I am looking for a quiet home without them – teenagers would be fine. Whether I am suitable as a second dog depends on the sympathy – I am open to meeting. Leaving me alone for many hours regularly (e.g., due to work absence) is not for me. Taking me to the office could also be difficult – because it can happen that I spit out several times spontaneously and without warning… that would probably be rather inconvenient. 😕 I wish for a loving home with quiet people who are willing to adapt to my special needs. You should be prepared to visit the animal shelter a few times so we can build mutual trust. If you would like to meet me or have questions, please contact my animal caret

About Nokart

What life with Nokart looks like

Nokart is a small senior french bulldog dog waiting at Tierheim Berlin in Berlin.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Note from the shelter: Requires empathetic, understanding owners

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nokart, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nokart?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Berlin handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nokart on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nokart if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Berlin will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nokart already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nokart isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Berlin early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nokart and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
