Nova

Beagle · Unknown

Meet Nova, a lovely young 1-year-old tri-coloured Beagle who is looking for a new home through no fault of her own. ❤️ Nova is a happy, affectionate and playful young Beagle who loves people and enjoys being the centre of attention! She particularly enjoys saying hello to people passing the garden and loves a fuss. She can be a little disappointed if people ignore her — she definitely believes everyone should stop for a cuddle! 🥰 She enjoys playing with her toys and has a cheeky habit of taking things outside so that her family can chase her around the garden. She may therefore need some help learning that socks and other household items aren’t toys! 🐶 Nova’s home life Very friendly and affectionate with people Gets on well with other dogs and enjoys playing with other family dogs Could potentially live with another suitable dog Calm around food and waits nicely for permission to eat House trained Will go into a crate, although she isn’t fully crate trained Used to travelling Has access to a secure garden Has never lived with cats, so this is currently unknown Has not yet had much lead training and can pull on her harness Has not been allowed off lead Nova does find being left alone difficult and can become destructive when she is on her own, so a home where someone is around for much of the day would be ideal. Her new family will need to continue building her confidence with being left gradually and appropriately. She has no known health conditions and is currently unspayed, having had her last season in July. Nova is a typical young Beagle with plenty of fun and mischief about her. She will need an active family who can give her plenty of companionship, enrichment, training and opportunities to explore. In return, she is likely to bring plenty of love, laughs and Beagle silliness to her new home. ❤️🐾

About Nova

What life with Nova looks like

Nova is an adult beagle dog waiting at The Beagle Welfare Scheme in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nova, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nova?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Beagle Welfare Scheme handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nova on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nova if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — The Beagle Welfare Scheme will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Nova already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nova isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Beagle Welfare Scheme early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nova and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
