Nova

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 2 months

I’m an 11-week-old German Shepherd puppy with the biggest ears and an even bigger personality! Everyone tells me I’m super cute, and I have to admit, they’re probably right. I’m still very young and have lots to learn about the world, so I’m looking for a family who will enjoy helping me grow into a happy, confident adult. I’d love a home with people who are committed to positive, reward-based training using treats, praise, patience, and consistency. I’m just a baby, so I’ll need help learning all the important puppy things like housetraining, what I can and can’t chew, basic manners, and all the other life skills that good dogs need. Because I’m still so young, I’ll need someone around for most of the day. Being left alone is something I’ll need to learn gradually, so any leaving hours should be built up slowly to help me feel safe and secure. I could happily live with another dog or even a cat, provided we have a successful introduction and everyone gets along nicely. While I may look small and adorable right now, don’t forget that I’m going to grow into a large German Shepherd! Because of this, I’ll need a home with a secure garden, giving me a safe space to play, explore, and stretch my legs. My friends here at the centre say I am going to be super popular and everyone is going to fall for me. My friends may not be able to contact everyone because they are so busy looking after dogs like me but will be reading every application to find my perfect home. If you’re ready to invest the time, training, and love that a young puppy needs, I promise to reward you with plenty of fun, loyalty, cuddles, and those irresistible big ears for years to come.

About Nova

What life with Nova looks like

Nova is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Jerry Green Dog Rescue in Lincoln.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nova, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nova?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Jerry Green Dog Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nova on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nova if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Jerry Green Dog Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nova already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nova isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Jerry Green Dog Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nova and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
