Adopt Novanta

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Novanta – a heart on four paws is looking for her forever home. Novanta is a magical young dog girl who has not lost her joy of life despite a difficult start in life. Together with her two puppies, she was simply left on the way to the animal shelter. For years, she lived with them in a box – until the police asked the owner to find a solution. This "solution" was abandoning the small family. And yet: it could have been worse. Novanta is alive – and she loves. Now she gets her chance of a lifetime – the path into her own lifelong family without pain and deprivation. She is a small, very lively and friendly female dog, open towards all people and other animals. Novanta enjoys movement and needs mental stimulation as well as long walks where she can discover the world. After that, she is happy and content – ready for many quiet hours full of closeness. Because cuddling is one of her greatest passions, closely followed by her second great love: good food. Although she has experienced much suffering from people, Novanta has not lost her trust. She meets us with an open heart and will be an incredible loyal companion to the person who gives her a home. Her gentleness, her cheerfulness and her beautiful appearance make her something truly special. Novanta is waiting for just one thing: a person who shows her that love can last forever. The animals are described as they behave in the animal shelter or foster home. This behavior is not shown immediately upon arrival. Some react initially with fear to the new situation. Animals from the animal rescue all have a past that was mostly not nice or cruel. This past cannot be shaken off overnight. They need time to be allowed to arrive and to gain trust. Please be patient and give your pet the necessary time!

About Novanta

What life with Novanta looks like

Novanta is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina in Berlin.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Novanta, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Novanta?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Novanta on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Novanta if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Novanta already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Novanta isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina early rather than rehoming privately; they know Novanta and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
