adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Olive has found her forever home! Her story: Olive – her name alone sounds delicate, and she is just as captivating. This little puppy brings something special with her shining black fur, bright awake eyes, and her sweet bat-like ears, which instantly makes anyone smile. Once you've seen her, you won't forget her! Olive is currently around 5–6 months old, still a proper puppy eager to explore the world. In her foster home in Dietzenbach, she shows herself as a happy, curious, and lovable female dog who conquers all hearts. With her short legs, she prances proudly through life, curiously exploring her surroundings, and enjoys both lively play sessions and cozy cuddle hours with her people. She gets along excellently with the other dogs in her foster home – she is playful, friendly, and open. Of course, Olive still has a lot to learn, but that's what makes life with a young puppy so exciting. She has already taken the first steps of the puppy ABC in her foster home – she already walks nicely on a leash, her house training is getting better, and she's not really scared of everyday noises. But it's important that her new family continues where she left off: training, loving upbringing, and clear but gentle guidance will help Olive grow into an amazing companion. And then there's still puberty – a phase where Olive will likely test a few boundaries. But that's where the opportunity lies: With patience, positive reinforcement, consistency, and a touch of humor, her people can lay a stable foundation for her future life. Attending a positively working dog training class would be very helpful and would not only support Olive in learning but also strengthen her bond to her people. We wish Olive a home with patient people who enjoy fostering her growth and providing both physical and mental stimulation. Walks, small adventure tours, joint training, and mental stimulation that challenges her smart mind should be part of her everyday life. Olive doesn't just want to "go along"; she wants to be seen as a full-fledged family member who can grow and explore the world with her people. Olive is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings an EU pet passport and can be adopted after a positive health check. Who falls in love with the little beauty with her shining fur, cute bat-like ears, and giant heart? Many thanks to Lea! You named Olive! Date: 01.10.

Vielen Dank Lea! Du hast Olive ihren Namen geschenkt! Stand: 01.10.2025

About Olive

What life with Olive looks like

Olive is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Olive, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Olive?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Olive on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Olive if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Olive already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Olive isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Olive and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
