Omega

German Shepherd · Female · Adult · 5 years

Omega is looking for an experienced caregiver! Omega is approximately 3-4 years old, weighs about 25 kg, and is a female German Shepherd mix. She is an energetic and friendly dog who is very happy to see her caregiver and enjoys seeking support from them. She likes to cuddle, loves water, and enjoys walks in the woods. Omega can walk on a leash, but new places can overwhelm her. In such situations, she may stop and not want to go further. She needs a caregiver who can help her gain confidence and support her in exploring new places. Short, calm walks are best at first, which can be gradually extended over time. She is patient during grooming procedures. She selectively accepts other dogs, so for now, we are looking for a home without other animals and without children. Omega needs an experienced, patient, and consistent caregiver who will provide her with a lot of support, calm guidance, and help her build confidence. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN LEASH/COLLAR/HARNESS WHEN ADOPTING. The description is based on observations of the dog in the shelter. Omega is under the care of OTOZ Animals Shelter in Tczew. Registration number in the shelter: 365/25 The female dog is vaccinated, chipped, dewormed, and spayed. Contact for adoption: 58 531 96 56

About Omega

What life with Omega looks like

Omega is a large adult german shepherd dog waiting at OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Frequently asked

Adopting Omega, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Omega?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Omega on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Omega if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Omega already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Omega isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie early rather than rehoming privately; they know Omega and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
