Oscar en Turbo

Mixed Breed · Male · Kitten · 4 months

Oscar and Turbo are a pair, but they're not brothers. Turbo came as a stowaway with a litter that arrived at the foundation. Turbo was also in the basket, but he was clearly older than the rest and didn't belong there... Where he came from is still a mystery, but of course he needed playmates of his own age. So he ended up in the same foster home as Oscar. Oscar was raised by his mom at a foster home. He came to the foundation with his mom and brother and sister when they were just a few days old. Mom didn't produce milk, so they were fed from a bottle. Mom is social; the kittens never knew anything else but people being around them. In the foster home, the kittens learned to guard their own boundaries. Petting is fine. But they have paws to walk on and no time for cuddling. They are young playful kittens who love to romp and play with you. Then there just isn't any time left for cuddling. Turbo can be a bit rough in playing and was well used to people, but he didn't know how to behave around other kittens very well. Turbo was a real whirlwind at first. His foster family corrected him regularly. Fortunately, his behavior improved quickly as a result. Turbo is now a lot calmer, and he plays nicely with Oscar again. People are fun, but cats are more fun. Oscar is a tough tomcat who stands firmly on his own feet. He dares quite a bit and doesn't let himself be put in his place by another cat easily. Oscar is a lovely stable kitten. He can play nicely with Turbo. He can enjoy a stroke over his head. He is used to most household noises. Oscar learned at the foster home that his boundaries are respected. Lifting and cuddling isn't necessarily his thing. He is enthusiastic and playful. Paws belong on the ground, and there's no time for cuddling as a playful kitten. We expect Turbo and Oscar to do great in most households. They are not used to children. Keep in mind that Turbo can be a bit rough out of enthusiasm. This should be well supervised if he is placed with children. Children will need coaching around Oscar and Turbo regarding lifting, touching, stroking etc.

NL·Show original

Aaien is prima.

About Oscar en Turbo

What life with Oscar en Turbo looks like

Oscar en Turbo is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Kat in Nood in Netherlands.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Oscar en Turbo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Oscar en Turbo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Kat in Nood handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Oscar en Turbo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Oscar en Turbo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Kat in Nood will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Oscar en Turbo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Oscar en Turbo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Kat in Nood early rather than rehoming privately; they know Oscar en Turbo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
