How do I contact the shelter about Osełka?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. Can I adopt Osełka if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is Osełka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if Osełka isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie early rather than rehoming privately; they know Osełka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Osełka

Female · Senior · 9 years

Osełka is a 3-year-old female dog weighing about 10 kg. She is a sensitive and gentle girl who needs time to trust new people. At first, she is a bit withdrawn and cautiously explores her surroundings. Once she feels safe, she allows herself to be picked up and seeks human support. Osełka cannot walk on a leash yet. This is a completely new experience for her, so her future owner should be patient and help her gain confidence during walks, step by step. Osełka could live with a calm and stable dog that would be a support for her and make it easier for her to settle in her new home. We are looking for a quiet, experienced home that will give her as much time as she needs to acclimate and build trust. Due to her sensitive nature, we are looking for a home without children, where she can find her place in the new reality at her own pace. The description is based on observations of the dog in the shelter. Osełka is under the care of OTOZ Animals Shelter in Tczew. Registration number in the shelter: 97/26 The female dog is vaccinated, chipped, dewormed and spayed. Contact for adoption: 58 531 96 56

Osełka szuka spokojnego i cierpliwego domu! Osełka to około 3-letnia suczka, ważąca około 10 kg. Kontakt w sprawie adopcji: 58 531 96 56

About Osełka

What life with Osełka looks like

Osełka is a small senior dog waiting at OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.
