Adopt Oskar & Willi

European Shorthair · Male · Adult · 8 years

Hello, we are Oskar and Willi! Because we could no longer be taken care of, we were given up at the animal shelter. We are a brother duo and have spent our entire lives together. I, Willi, am very outgoing and affectionate and will immediately greet any visitor who enters our room. Oskar, on the other hand, is a bit shy around strangers at first and needs some observation time to come out of his shell. But then he also shows his cuddly and approachable side. We know dogs and other cats. Health-wise, we are generally unremarkable, though our teeth are quite full of tartar – a dental cleaning would be necessary in the near future to ensure we can continue to eat well and live pain-free. We are looking for a shared home that is suitable for apartment living with secure outdoor access (balcony, terrace, or run) with people who have plenty of time for us and enjoy cuddling with us. Children should already be a bit older, as Oskar often gets a bit overwhelmed with a lot of noise and activity. If you would like to give us a home, please contact the animal shelter and visit us soon! Your brother duo, Oskar & Willi!

Dein Bruder-Duo, Oskar & Willi!

About Oskar & Willi

What life with Oskar & Willi looks like

Oskar & Willi is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Tierschutzverein St. Pölten in St. Pölten.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Oskar & Willi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Oskar & Willi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein St. Pölten handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Oskar & Willi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Oskar & Willi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein St. Pölten will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Oskar & Willi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Oskar & Willi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein St. Pölten early rather than rehoming privately; they know Oskar & Willi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
