Otis

Mixed Breed · Male · Baby · 11 months

Meet Otis – A Cheerful Young Rabbit Full of Personality and Promise Otis is a wonderfully sweet and curious young rabbit who approaches life with endless enthusiasm. Full of hops, binkies, and energy, he’s always keen to see what’s happening around him — especially if there’s a chance a treat might be involved. His playful and inquisitive nature makes him an absolute joy to watch, and he has a lovely way of bringing smiles to everyone around him with his cheeky antics and happy-go-lucky personality. Sadly, Otis has already had a difficult start in life. Before arriving with us, an attempted bond with another unneutered male led to serious fighting, leaving Otis with bite injuries to both of his hind legs. Thankfully, these injuries have now fully healed and have not dampened his bright and optimistic outlook on life in the slightest. However, because of this experience, Otis may benefit from a slower and more gradual bonding process with a suitable female rabbit, allowing him the time and reassurance needed to rebuild his confidence around other rabbits. Despite everything he has been through, Otis remains a confident and friendly lad. He will happily hop over to investigate what you’re doing and say hello, although he can take a little time to fully warm to new people before accepting head strokes. Once you’re officially part of his friendship group, though, he’s more than happy to enjoy some gentle fuss — at least until he decides he has something more exciting to do. Like many young rabbits, Otis is generally far too busy exploring, investigating, and causing mischief to sit still for very long. Unlike many rabbits, Otis is not overly worried about being picked up, although naturally he still prefers to keep all four paws firmly on the ground and interact with people on his own terms whenever possible. Otis is also doing brilliantly with his hay eating and has made really good progress with his litter training since being neutered, becoming much tidier in his accommodation. He could live either indoors or outdoors in an appropriate setup, although he has shown a slight tendency to nibble things he perhaps shouldn’t. We are currently assessing whether this behaviour settles now that he has access to more space and enrichment. What Otis Needs Otis is looking for a loving forever home where he can be bonded with a suitable female rabbit and finally enjoy the stability and companionship he deserves. He would thrive in a home with plenty of space to run, explore, binky, and express all the wonderful natural behaviours that make rabbits such rewarding companions. He’s an active, intelligent young rabbit who enjoys being involved in daily life and will bring endless character and entertainment to his future home. Could You Offer Otis the Fresh Start He Deserves? Otis may have had a rocky beginning, but he has never lost his joyful spirit. With his curious personality, playful nature, and affectionate side once he trusts you, he has so much love and happiness to offer the right home. In return for a safe and understanding forever family, Otis promises to keep his humans smiling with his adorable antics and larger-than-life personality. Could you be the one to give Otis the happy future he’s been waiting for? About Otis

What life with Otis looks like

Otis is a puppy/kitten mixed breed rabbit waiting at Nibbles Rodent and Rabbit Rescue in United Kingdom.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Otis, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Otis?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Nibbles Rodent and Rabbit Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Otis on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Otis if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Nibbles Rodent and Rabbit Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Otis already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Otis isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Nibbles Rodent and Rabbit Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Otis and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
