Palma

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 3 years

Palma was born on 01/11/2022. Palma is from the Villalube family. It's been 3 and a half weeks since we rescued her along with Ibiza. Although it's taking longer than it did for River, Cleo, and Mérida, we can say we're seeing progress in them. Palma arrived with extreme panic, she wouldn't show her ears, wouldn't look at us, and when she moved, it was to run away. She still struggles to think that the leash is for going for walks and enjoying herself. But today we saw a smile we've never seen before, and she enjoyed some of the affection from one of our volunteers. There's a way to go with Palma, but today it gave us hope that maybe trust isn't as far away as it seemed at first. Our little one is still in rehabilitation, but we want you to get to know her to see if someone falls in love with her when she's ready to find a home 🍀If you want to know more about her, even if it's for later.

About Palma

What life with Palma looks like

Palma is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Propatas in Spain.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Palma, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Palma?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Propatas handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Palma on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Palma if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Propatas will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Palma already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Palma isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Propatas early rather than rehoming privately; they know Palma and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
