Pamela

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

mixed breed Pamela is searching for a new home full of love and security. Life sometimes takes unexpected turns, and that’s how the beloved Pamela found herself without a home. Now she’s on the lookout for people who will open their hearts to this wonderful female dog. Pamela is a friendly, calm, and pleasant companion who greatly enjoys the company of her people. She’s not one to constantly demand attention or make a loud fuss – rather, she values the quiet, shared moments and extensive cuddles. She’s happiest when she’s simply along for the ride. On walks, Pamela walks properly on the leash and explores her surroundings in a relaxed manner. She particularly enjoys ball games and is just as happy with a tasty chew toy. She also manages to be alone for several hours without any problems. Pamela gets along well with other dogs. However, too many fellow animals at once are a bit unsettling for her, so she prefers a more quiet environment. She greets women openly and friendly, but with men, she sometimes needs a bit more time to build trust. Despite her age, Pamela is still fit and loves to go for walks. After very playful sessions, she may occasionally limp slightly with her right hind leg. However, this doesn’t cause her any problems in her daily life or during longer walks. An ideal home would be one with few or no stairs. For Pamela, we wish for loving people who will appreciate her gentle nature and give her a safe place where she can feel at home. She still has so much love to give and deserves to spend her golden years protected and happily. Those who meet Pamela will quickly realize: it’s often the quiet dogs who leave the biggest marks on the heart.

About Pamela

What life with Pamela looks like

Pamela is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pamela, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pamela?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pamela on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pamela if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pamela already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pamela isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pamela and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
