Paten für Michel gesucht

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Michel was so done when he came to us a year and a half ago. People who were driving at night saw him lying on the street. It was wet and cold, and they thought he had been hit by a car. They brought the thin, emaciated, homeless cat grandpa to our veterinarian. There, they found that he had no injuries but was simply at the end of his strength. I believe Michel was so fed up with the lousy life as a stray that a feigned accident was his last hope for help. He was lucky because his plan worked. Double lucky, because he ended up with a vet who didn't give up on him, even though all his blood values screamed for euthanasia. In the morning, she called me, and we decided that I would take Michel home and give him a few nice days. To eat well again if he wanted, and to lie in warmth when it's raining and freezing outside. At that time, Michel was so anemic that his mucous membranes were as white as milk. But, he had an appetite, and that was already half the battle! After two days, it was clear: Michel wanted to live! Bravely, he took his not-so-scarce medications, and his mucous membranes turned a delicate pink again. And another two weeks later, we even dared to tackle the necessary dental work and a castration was due. Of course, his AIDS could strike back at any time, but if anyone has learned to dodge death, it's our Michel. By the way, Michel has been living in our our shelter office since then, because on the foster home where he stayed for a few weeks after his recovery, he felt quite unwell. He lost weight again, became unsanitary, and even used his little teeth. Another one who chose his home with us himself. Maybe we can find one or more sponsors for Michel, who want and can give us some financial support.

Nach zwei Tagen stand fest: Michel will leben! 1.436 Erreichte Personen 82 Interaktionen – Distributionswert Beitrag bewerben 3838 6 Mal geteilt Gefällt mir Kommentieren Teilen Paten gesucht

About Paten für Michel gesucht

What life with Paten für Michel gesucht looks like

Paten für Michel gesucht is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Wertheim e.V. in Wertheim.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Paten für Michel gesucht, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Paten für Michel gesucht?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Wertheim e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Paten für Michel gesucht on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Paten für Michel gesucht if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Wertheim e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Paten für Michel gesucht already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Paten für Michel gesucht isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Wertheim e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Paten für Michel gesucht and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
