Pebbles 🐾 Pebbles D2026-57 🐩 6-year-old Miniature Poodle βœ‚οΈ Neutered πŸ’‰ Vaccinated, microchipped & up to date with flea and worm treatment πŸ›‘οΈ Comes with 5 weeks’ free Agria pet insurance πŸ“ Fostered in Cardiff Pebbles is a little lady who needs someone special to help her discover that the world really isn’t such a scary place. πŸ’• She is a quiet, gentle girl who is still very unsure of people, particularly inside the home, and she needs a patient, calm family who will allow her to build her confidence at her own pace. When Pebbles first arrived in foster, she was very wary of her surroundings and people. She will now approach cautiously and will allow her foster mum to stroke her, but she can still become overwhelmed, back away and watch from a safe distance. She is making progress, but she needs an understanding home that won't expect too much too soon. She would benefit enormously from having another kind, friendly and confident dog in her new home. Pebbles is very comfortable around other dogs and we believe a friendly canine companion will help her learn how to relax, play and enjoy life, while also giving her reassurance around her new humans. 🐢❀️ She has only recently been spayed, so she hasn't yet had the opportunity to go out on walks and meet people away from the home. She does sit in the hallway watching the door, so we think there is a curious little dog in there waiting to discover the big wide world! Pebbles loves the garden and can be quite the little madam when it's time to come back inside! πŸ˜‚ She has even started taking toys out into the garden, although she's still figuring out exactly what she's supposed to do with them. She isn't currently a fan of her harness or lead, although she will happily potter around the garden wearing one. These are all things her new family will need to introduce gradually and positively as her confidence grows. 🏑 What Pebbles is looking for: A quiet, patient family home Anot

About Pebbles

What life with Pebbles looks like

Pebbles is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Friends of Animals Wales in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible β€” a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pebbles, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pebbles?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Friends of Animals Wales handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pebbles on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pebbles if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Friends of Animals Wales will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pebbles already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pebbles isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Friends of Animals Wales early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pebbles and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
