We do not know his exact birthdate, but veterinarians estimate that he is about five years old. He was rescued from an animal shelter and unfortunately, we know nothing about his past. What we do know is that life has not been easy for him, and he needs people with a lot of patience and love to help him overcome his fears. Although it is clear that he has never had the chance to really learn how to play, he is sometimes encouraged to play with the toys in the animal shelter's garden. Even during these playful moments, he always keeps his eyes on the volunteers: he still does not trust what might happen, and his fear keeps him constantly alert. His fear of people runs deep, but despite this, Pepe has never shown any sign of aggression. He is a noble, sensitive dog full of kindness, who only needs to feel safe to start trusting. With other dogs, Pepe appears to be social and balanced. He currently shares a kennel with several companions, and living together goes very well. This quality can be a great help for him, as living with another calm and confident dog as a role model can give him more confidence in his own adaptation process. For the same reason, it has not been possible to test how he behaves with cats. During the attempt, he was so focused on what the people around him were doing that he became extremely scared, to the point that he slipped out of his harness. Want zeker in het drukke Nederland wil je absoluut niet dat hij zich uit zijn tuigje weet te wurmen door angst. Pepe Garcia heeft in de tussentijd wel alweer stappen gemaakt en heeft alweer een beetje meer zelfvertrouwen ontwikkelt.
