Perdy

Golden Retriever · Female · Young · 2 years

18-06-26 Perdy is a beautiful, affectionate girl who has come to us from a breeder and is now looking for a loving home of her own. She simply adores people and loves nothing more than giving and receiving affection. Perdy will happily sit right in front of you with her big, hopeful eyes, patiently waiting for some fuss. If she feels she isn't getting enough attention, she'll gently jump up for a cuddle, she's absolutely adorable in every way. As Perdy has never lived in a home environment before, she will need support with house training and settling into family life. She walks nicely on a lead but will benefit from continued training and guidance as she gains confidence. She has the confidence to be an only dog in the right home, or she can live with a kind resident dog who doesn't mind sharing their space. Perdy would love an active home where she can enjoy plenty of adventures, walks, and opportunities to explore the world. She could live with dog-savvy children who understand the importance of giving her space while she settles in, although we expect her loving nature will shine through very quickly. Any family lucky enough to welcome Perdy into their home will gain a devoted, affectionate companion who has so much love to give. She has arrived with a bald patch on her back, that should grow back, an overshot jaw that does not seem to bother her and is a little overweight so gentle exercise will be good for her. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Perdy

What life with Perdy looks like

Perdy is a large young adult golden retriever dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Perdy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Perdy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Perdy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Perdy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Perdy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Perdy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Perdy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
